This has been a great addition to our yard and has paid for itself many times over. We had nothing but problems with our expensive built-in Irritrol (Irritating?) system over the years; it was confusing to program and something was always wrong with it, requiring annual visits from technicians that cost upwards of $100. However, just this morning I went out into the yard and it was still on two hours after it should have shut off, and there was a small flood in the yard. The problem? The batteries were getting weak and needed to be changed; they hadn’t been changed since I installed the unit in the spring of 2024, and they spent a year outdoors in Phoenix, Arizona. Reinstall new batteries every year, and you should be good to go.
