I’ve had my 1974 Super Beetle since I restored a 1976 Westfalia from the pan up and decided I hated driving it. I sold it for $5,000 and bought the super for $4,500. Never regretted it. Still fear the thought of driving that breadbox bus. I put more than 100,000 on the bug and finally got a water-cooled car. Dealing with three-digit heat in a bug is a cooker. But the bug still has my love. I’ve been putting in a little time doing stuff. The window rubber looked like crap and had begun to harden and crack. I’ve only replaced the two back side windows, but the task was pretty simple. I did a YouTube tutorial prior to putting it back in. And I advise having an assistant. My son filled that role for me. It took very little time after cleaning up the area and glass. Use lubrication. I bought the expensive stuff but was happier with dishwasher soap.
