Brigss and Stratton 5HP engine on Craftsman Model 247.797851 chipper/shredder. My old carbureator lasted “only” 33 years. Having recently replaced the similar carburetor on my same-vintage tiller, I knew what to do when the chipper would not start a week after its last use. Ordered this carbureator on Saturday, and it was delivered Sunday around 3pm. Because of my recent tiller carb replacement, this was all familiar work and I had it installed quickly (being careful to take videos of linkages before disassembling the old carb helps a lot!). I gave it a spray of Blaster starter spray before first pull. It started on the first pull, and ran fine until I stopped it a short while later. You can’t beat that for $20!Like others, I found that one of the four screw holes for the screws that hold the air cleaner tray to the top of the carb was not quite deep enough. Took a little extra muscle to make drive that screw all the way. Thought I might have to get my tap set out, but did not have to do that in the end.I would definitely buy this carbureator again. Nothing but a good experience so far.
